Insulation Removal

Insulation Removal

When was the last time you cleaned your attic?

If you can’t answer that question that is the first warning sign that something may need to be done soon. Insulation removal requires the same detailed attention as adding new insulation.

When should you replace or add insulation? 

And why is it important?

Insulation removal is necessary when existing insulation has been damaged from entrance by rodents & other pests, through smoke from a home fire, or a roof leak that allows water to damage to the insulation. Insulation removal is also an option when doing a remodel an a home. 

SDI's Insulation Removal Process

When doing insulation removal, we use equipment specifically designed to contain the product, and collects the old insulation into a holding container outside the home. Insulation that has been removed does not infiltrate the home, which often can include contaminants that may have accumulated in the insulation. 

How Long does it take?

The length of time the insulation removal may take varies with the thickness and type of the product being removed. Usually, SDI estimates approximately 150 square feet an hour for 8-12 inches in depth.
